The Championship course Valderrama is one of the most famous golf courses in Europe. It is located in Sotogrande, province of Andalusia in southern Spain, just 30 min. drive from Marbella direction Gibraltar and was until 2008 the traditional venue for the Volvo Masters, the lucrative final tournament of the PGA European Tour. Since 2010, the Andalucía Masters is organized instead.
The 4th hole, La Cascada is indeed referred to as the signature hole of the course. However, the more famous is the 17th hole, a par 5, with a sloping and fast green lying in front a water hazard. Even Tiger Woods putted here once his ball from the green into the water.
